Even though it may be freezing cold outside, one tip to remember is not to wear a whole lot of synthetic or wool fabrics over your strands. This can cause all sorts for breakage and damage to your hair – if at all possible, try to go hatless. Yes, yes, I know it may be hard since heat does escape the body through your head, but bear with me – I have another suggestion. How about a head garment? This could be a silk scarf wrapped about your tresses as silk will not damage your hair at all!
Another trick is to not wear anything tight on your head, if you happen to use my scarf suggestion, great! Just do not tie it tightly, as this will draw the moisture out of your hair by force and leave your strands looking very lackluster and dull. Also, do not wear any head garments for long than twenty-four hours. Your hair needs time to breathe and if you are constantly wrapping it up in some type of fabric, it does not get that time!
So there you have it! All the steps, tips, tricks and trades for great looking wintertime tresses. Just remember to keep it moisturized, do not wear hats and if you use a scarf around your head, do not exceed twenty-four hours!
